This was the second product I purchased from UM Tactical, after purchasing the UM3 Mount and Holster. I put the R.A.G.E. TCS on my 5.56NATO AR-15, and the results where unexpected and game changing. The advantages of this system are definitely aimed at the competitive shooting market, with over 100 different ways to setup the 6 washers to decrease recoil or the various washers with various levels of expulsion gas being used for downward pressure for quick follow up shots, it is usually unlikely that you would need over 100 options while hunting, but in various competitions this muzzle break has a setting for every position, or odd angel shot you may need to take.
For hunting or Competitive shooting this muzzle break is a fantastic tool for providing you with keeping your sights on target shot after shot, the easiest way to explain it is having a bench or table top shooting rest that firmly secures your rifle, where you know your gun will not move at all when you shoot. Except now you get that exact same effect, from your muzzle break and using a rear shooting sock or keeping your hand placed under the buttstock. You can confidently pull the trigger shot after shot without worrying about recoil causing you to be off target.
I have used it on my 5.56, 6.5 Creedmoor, ar10 (.308 7.62NATO) and I have fun learning and recording what happens with each way I setup the washers. Finding out what setup on the muzzle break is best for various shooting positions, or environments. But the instructions come with some extremely standard beneficial setups that are great starting points and immediately outperformed any other muzzle break I have used. Spending time experimenting with other setups is as enjoying as trying a new caliper for the first time.
So if your a hunter, this muzzle break with have extra settings you may never need to utilize, but for the price and performance you will still benefit greatly from it.
If you are in shooting sports, the benefits and possibilities are nearly endless. You will be able to find the best way to setup for every different scenario you get put in, and changing your setup is quick loosen 4 small allen bolts, and take the top off, then switch out the washers or reposition them how you want. Screw top back on and tighten, it takes about as much time as opening a bottled water taking a drink and putting the cap back on. I have been using the R.A.G.E TCS since around June and have tested others that where twice as expensive and none have come close to what I am able to achieve using UM Tactician's product.
I've noticed UM Tactical doesn't produce huge varieties of similar products for its consumers, instead they put their time and effort into developing and manufacturing; high-quality, extremely innovative, widely beneficial solutions for their customers. When you purchase a UM Tactical product, you know your getting a product that they back up, and put large amounts of engineering and creativity in, from a US based company that manufactures in the US. Florida to be exact.
And when you contact them, they have a staff that is unmatched for service. I now own over 6 UM products between myself and my fiancée. From trigger guards, to UM3 Mount and holster combo for my main competition pistol. And R.A.G.E. TCS muzzle breaks on my 5.56 ar15, my 6.5 Creedmoor (Which I hit the one mile mark with, using the R.A.G.E. TCS muzzle break which wouldn't have been possible otherwise because I had to be my own spotter, so had my crosshairs been jumping around it would have been impossible), also have a trigger guard for my pistol, when I am not using the mount and holster, because I don't always choose to open carry, and the trigger guard gives me the confidence to not worry about a soft Inside waist band holster, and having one in the chamber. I cut a small hole for the trigger guard string so if I draw from my holster the trigger guard starts to come out then releases. Its a bit excessive, but safety should be a primary concern for all firearms users.
Also, want to thank UM Tactical for its continued support of 3gun nation, they have given a lot to help National shooting sports grow. As a competitor I am extremely grateful.
If anyone has questions I stand by my comments. Email me James Yuenger at firstname.lastname@example.org
I will give my point of view on any product I've used, and share my reporting that I have obtained while using, or just share some cool pictures of the devices mounted.
This is worth the purchases, if your considering just get it you wont be disappointed. Everyone I have let shoot with my guns using the R.A.G.E. have loved it, including my fiancée and mom who didn't even like shooting my 5.56 but with the R.A.G.E. She shoots 7.62 NATO (.308) semi auto and loves it. My mom is 5'3 and 110 lbs wet if that, and she put 30 rounds in a 4inch group at 200 yards.
So its worth the buy.
Hope the info helps, from the now northern Minnesota Tundra season.
